ShadeTrace Map
User Privacy Choices
Effective October 24, 2026
ShadeTrace Map has no user accounts, targeted advertising, analytics, or developer-operated database of user locations or searches. The developer does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Control location access
ShadeTrace Map asks for your location only while the app is in use, and only to center the map and sun calculations on where you are. To change or revoke access on iPhone or iPad:
- Open Settings.
- Go to Privacy & Security > Location Services.
- Select ShadeTrace Map and choose Never, Ask Next Time, or While Using the App.
Without location access, you can still search for and select any place manually.
Delete local app data
ShadeTrace Map stores limited preferences and home-screen widget data on your device. To erase them completely on iPhone or iPad:
- Touch and hold the ShadeTrace Map icon.
- Select Remove App.
- Select Delete App and confirm.
Reinstalling the app creates a fresh local installation.
Control network requests
Maps, place search, place names, and weather require connections to third-party services. You can avoid sending a place search or coordinates to those providers by not using those online features and by turning off location access. You may also restrict the app’s network access through device or network controls where available.
Access, correction, and deletion requests
Because the developer does not maintain user accounts or a server-side history of locations, searches, or selected places, the developer generally has no user profile to access, correct, or delete.
Requests handled directly by OpenStreetMap Nominatim, Open-Meteo, OpenFreeMap, or Esri are subject to each provider’s privacy process. Links to their policies are listed in the Privacy Policy.
Contact the developer
If you have a privacy question or believe information was submitted through a support interaction, contact the developer through the support tracker. Do not include passwords, precise locations, or other sensitive information in a public issue.
